To report a vehicle which is parked illegally call the Council's Parking Hotline on

The parking hotline is free of charge from landlines, and calls are recorded and passed onto the Parking Enforcement Team.
The parking hotline operates from 8.00am to 9.00pm, every day, and they aim to respond to all calls within 45 minutes.
To report an illegally parked vehicle which is causing an obstruction or hazard outside of the hours when our hotline operates, call the police on 101.

The Neighbourhood Enforcement Team and Public Protection Team deal with complaints about noise from Monday to Friday, between 8.30am and 5.00pm.
The Noise Patrol Team is available 'out of hours' to deal with both commercial and domestic noise complaints on Friday and Saturday nights from 9pm until 2:30am.

If you are having trouble with noise from local student residents, the first step is to contact the Council as above.
If you have contacted the Council but the noise issues are still unresolved, there are further steps you can take directly with the university.

The Committee is aware that the estate has reached its legal threshold (20%) for HMOs, and that there are instances of work happening / being approved without review under 'Permitted Development'. The Committee are working closely with our Local Councillors to tackle this issue with the City of York Council, but we are currently unsure of timescales. However, research by the Committee has led to rejection of three planning requests over the last year, and the council now have new rules in place regarding HMO registration.
Below is a map to show where the known HMOs are on the estate. Please let us know if you are aware of any others.
